Ten foods that halved the risk of Alzheimer's disease



Leafy green vegetables, wine, nuts, fish and olive oil are among the foods that halved the risk of onset of Alzheimer's disease, slowing down the process of degeneration of the brain.

 A new diet created by specialists in brain health may decrease by more than 50% risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, according to a new study. Experts say that this diet has beneficial effects even if it is not followed meticulously.

Diet includes three servings of whole grains consumed daily, along with a salad and a serving of vegetables, olive oil and a glass of wine.

According to a new study by researchers at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, people who strictly followed this diet had a 53% lower risk of developing Alzheimer's disease and those who have not complied with a fully experienced with 35% less risk of getting sick.

The list of ten foods that protect brain: green leafy vegetables, other vegetables, nuts, berries, legumes (beans, chickpeas, etc.), whole grains, fish, chicken, olive oil, wine.

Also, the top foods that affect brain health is composed of red meat, butter and margarine, cheese, pastries and sweets, fried foods and fast food.

Snacks should be based on nuts and seeds, legumes should be eaten every two days, chicken and berries - at least twice a week and fish - at least once a week.

Butter and margarine should not exceed one tablespoon per day, cheese, pastries, sweets, red meat and fried foods / fast food - less than once a week.

The study was funded by the US National Institute on Aging.
