An ancient tomb belonging to Amenhotep, keeper of the temple dedicated to the god Amun Egyptian, was found in the southern part of the complex Luxor, announced on Tuesday the Ministry of Antiquities in Egypt, said.
According to local authorities, that the tomb probably dates from the time of the eighteenth Egyptian dynasty (1543 - 1292 BC).
Photographs show a tomb of the Egyptian Ministry painted in strong colors of yellow and brown and decorated with many hieroglyphs.
"The tomb contains many amazing scenes, made vivid colors, paint and plaster," said Mamdouh Eldamaty, Egyptian Minister of Antiquities.
"Many scenes presents the tomb owner and his wife, before a hearty meal, and representations of a goddess who feeds a royal child, along with scenes of everyday life," the Egyptian official said.
The tomb was discovered by a team of American and Egyptian archaeologists in Luxor complex, located 700 kilometers from Cairo.
However, the place where he sleeps the sleep of eternity that guard the temple was vandalized, for reasons still unknown.
"The tomb, which is T-shaped, was deliberately vandalized in ancient times," Sultan said Eid, general manager of Upper Egypt region.
"The names and titles of the tomb owner, certain texts with hieroglyphics and some scenes, besides the name of the god Amun were deliberately erased," added Sultan Eid.
Eldamaty Mamdouh said in a separate press statement that a rest home that belonged to Pharaoh Tutmes II, which was part of all of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, was discovered in the province of Ismailia in the Suez Canal region .
