An extremely rare scepter-cudgel is unveiled



A scepter-old cudgel 6,000 years, archaeologists say artifact which is a very rare piece is exposed, as of Tuesday, the National Museum of Alba Iulia, transmit AFP correspondent.

Rod-cudgel was presented Tuesday at an exhibition opened at National Museum of Alba Iulia, the song is from the collection of the prehistory of the institution and is extremely rare in the area of ​​Southeastern Europe.

Horia Ciugudean researcher said in publicizing the artifact, that it is a stone scepter-bludgeon, features four conical protuberances that fixed in a wooden handle.

He said that the piece was donated to the museum in 1984 by a native of Sard, Ighiu and in its reports revealed that the object was found during digging a well in his yard.

Horia Ciugudean explained that scepters-stone clubs were used especially during the Neolithic and Bronze Age in a vast space, the Middle East to Eastern Europe, especially in northern and western Black Sea.

"Part of Sard is currently the discovery of its kind in the western area of ​​continental Europe, it having existed for about 6,000 years," said Horia Ciugudean.

The exhibition is open until the end of March.
