It's no secret that the digital revolution has been "cruel" to the music industry. Users are now many ways to access music you want to hear, from the pages of streaming, downloading digital songs and even social media.
Technology has simplified the creation, sharing and listening to music, but made the discovery of artists or songs less interactive.
Specialized platforms offer a variety of tools and search algorithms, but they are not as exciting as "meeting" with certain artists accidental discovery of an interesting cover in a shop, I creators a platform that aims to bring this feeling to life in the twenty-first century.
Predominant.ly platform is not based on conventional filters such as the search for artists, genres or some of which resemble those songs you know. The platform gives users a single search criteria: color.
They are challenged to listen to the albums whose covers predominant color chosen. The database includes 150,000 albums. After choosing the color and display albums, users can listen to excerpts from these parts, and if one of those smiles you can visit iTunes to download the song.
"You always want to look or you're used to look. We did not deliberately included this option, "said Lizzie Malcolm, one of the ones that create the portal.

The team that worked on the development platform is in The Hague, Netherlands. The project started in fun, to do something interesting weekend, but soon, the four have realized that it can be more.
"As I started to develop it we realized the potential that is opposite of the way we listen to music and looking on the internet where everything is a list that can be filtered and sorted," said Dan Powers, a another creator of the platform.
They wanted to revive the feeling of discovering music by accident.
Since the platform has more than 900 colors, the probability that utlizatorii to run over the same albums is often quite small.
