When should floss before or after washing your teeth?

All dentists recommend flossing in addition to brushing, but not everyone knows when it's time to use it: before or after we brush your teeth? Here is the professional opinion of a specialist.

Clean your teeth with dental floss before you brush your teeth, recommended Matthew Nejad, dentist and professor at California Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California.

Flossing helps toothbrush before posting food debris and dental plaque (a film of microorganisms) that accumulates between the teeth and under gums, so brushing removes them easier later. Elimination of food debris and plaque is a key factor in preventing cavities, gum disease and odor on the breath.

Toothbrush does not reach all the hidden places of the teeth (especially in people who have crowded teeth), so flossing is an important operation in the daily hygiene of teeth.

American Dental Association recommends flossing at least once a day; even better would be to have this done before each wash teeth. The positive effects of this activity well worth the 30 extra seconds it requires handling.
