All the 103 species of lemurs live in Madagascar, and scientists recognize that many of these primates are in danger iniment.
Lemurian Life is not as quiet as before. Started logging the island and the population grew. However, the Lemurians are a target for poachers, but also for other species.
Another danger that will bring lemurs on the brink of extinction in the coming years is the climate change. Two researchers at Duke University analyzed the probability of temperature rise in the Madagascar rainforest and concluded that it is high enough as to affect 57 species of lemur in the next 65 years.
However, by 2080, six species of lemur will disappear from the Indian Ocean island in 99%.
