On February 27 marks 79 years since the Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov death. The legacy that left her medicine was significant, Pavlov was the first scientist who has studied the phenomenon of classical conditioning.

Russian physiologist made a series of experiments on a dog to understand the conditioned reflex, and children learn today about these classes Biology.

In 1890, the Russian Nobel laureate investigated gastric function by outsourcing the salivary gland of the dog in order to collect saliva in response to food. During experiments observed that saliva tend to occur before the food actually reaches the dog's mouth.




He began to investigate more closely this and came to establish the basic laws for the occurrence and elimination of saliva - called "conditioned reflex". Basically, he realized that appear conditioned salivation, due to previous experiences of the animal.

The dog that did experiments Pavlov was stuffed and exhibited in a museum dedicated to Pavlov, located in Ryazan, Russia.
