Stephen Hawking's warning: The end of civilization is near. We are all guilty

Forget asteroids, wounds or other disasters. The physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking says British faced with a threat much closer - it is about our own behavior.

"Human failure that I would like to correct is aggressive," said Hawking winner of a competition held in London.

"Perhaps that was an advantage during cave people to have more food, more territory or a partner, but now threatens to destroy us all," said physicist.

Adaeze Uyanwah, aged 24, from California won the "visitor of honor" in a competition organized by visitlondon.com portal. The award included a tour of London's Science Museum, along with Stephen Hawking.

During the tour, Uyanwah Hawking asked what human trait would like to change and what feature should be cultivated.

Hawking chose aggression, warning that a nuclear war could lead to the end of civilization and even the human race. Aggression should be replaced by empathy that "brings together, in a state of peace and love".

The physicist added that the future of the human race is in space.

"I think the long-term future of the human race is the space, in the sense that life insurance is important for our survival by preventing the extinction of humanity, through the colonization of other planets," Hawking argued.

Uyanwah says Intan will remember this for the rest of your life.

"It's incredible to think that in a few decades, when my grandchildren will learn about Stephen Hawking at science, I will be able to tell them that I met personally," he told the girl.
