Six years ago, on March 7, researchers NASA Kepler space mission launching bold, named in honor of Johannes Kepler German astronomer.
Cosmic station equipped with a special telescope so far identified 1,019 planet, later confirmed by other ground equipment, and more than 4,000 candidate planets waiting to be checked by specialists.
Dozens of planets the size of Earth have been identified, along with several other large planets that orbit "habitable zone" around their star where water can exist in liquid form.
Among the discoveries made using Kepler mission included two exoplanets that have the highest degree of similarity to Earth and ever noticed that water can remain liquid, thus allowing life to exist.
Researchers now analyze cosmic data sent by station.
